A yet-to-be-identified man in his fifties died while allegedly watching football at an open bar along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway in Lagos. The deceased, a frequent patron of the bar, had visited on May 15, 2024, to watch a football game. However, trouble arose when he was found unresponsive, and attempts to wake him were unsuccessful.
Lagos State Police Spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, stating that on May 15, 2024, around 7:00 PM, the bar owner reported to the Elere Division that a male customer had died while watching the game.
Hundeyin added that detectives who visited the scene found the man lying lifeless on a chair with no signs of violence. “His body has been taken to the Mainland General Hospital in Rusty Yaa for an autopsy,” he said. “We are still trying to locate his family.”
