This outstanding demonstration of integrity did not go unnoticed. Kano Governor, Abba Yusuf, recognizing the rare quality exhibited by Haladu, extended a significant token of appreciation. In addition to offering him a Permanent and Pensionable appointment, Haladu was granted a generous special gift of N1 million. The commendation ceremony took place at the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, where Governor Abba Yusuf expressed his deep gratitude for Haladu’s extraordinary act of honesty. The governor praised Haladu’s exemplary character, emphasizing that despite being a casual worker with modest earnings, he returned an amount exceeding 15 million naira. This, the governor noted, exemplified Haladu’s profound reverence for Allah and highlighted his deservedness of celebration.

Haladu, in his humble response, attributed his actions to his unwavering fear of Allah. He explained that it was his firm belief that appropriating what did not rightfully belong to him was ethically incorrect.
