…Commends FG for Approving N15B Power Plant for Ebonyi State

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has commended the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District for trooping out en masse on Saturday 25 February, to cast their ballots for Gov. Dave Umahi, who roundly defeated other contestants to emerge in a landslide as Senator-elect.

In a statement made available to media houses, the APC chieftain described the emergence of Gov. Umahi as a reflection of the will of majority and an answer to his earlier plea to the people to reciprocate the honest, quality leadership the Governor has displayed as Chief Servant of Ebonyi State.

Eze had prior to the election, called on the people to turn their massive support for the Governor into voting strength to elect him as Senator, noting that such gesture “…will be the most appropriate way of expressing gratitude for the very many good works he has wrought for state and her people, adding that the reward for good work is more work. Having emancipated Ebonyi state from the doldrums, Gov. Umahi deserves an accolade that could best be described as reward for his good deeds and that can be achieved by sending him to the Senate to propose laws that will help replicate his wonderful works in Ebonyi across Nigeria.

Eze a member of the APC Legacy Projects Media Team highlighted some of the feats that Ebonyians should consider and allow this man who knows the road very well to represent the State at the Red Chambers to influence greater and better projects to the State…..”

Eze highlighted that the essence of electing capable and creditable leaders into sensitive offices is for them to bring the dividends of democracy to their constituency and this is an area where Umahi is a specialist.

He said Gov. Umahi has shown sufficient competence and has convinced the people that he is capable of attracting dividends of democracy to them while delivering the mandate of lawmaking to the nation.

As Governor, Umahi committed the Federal Government to take over the Umahi University of Medicine and sciences including the take over of the State Airport by the Federal Government coupled with countless Educational and Infrastructural development he attracted to the State.

To prove this salient point, Eze said the Federal Government recently  approved the sum of N15 billion for the establishment of a power plant in Ebonyi State.

He said the Governor broke the news on Monday during a town hall meeting with the people of Ezza Nation at the International Airport complex in Onueke, Ezza South local Government Area of the state, adding that the project which promises to be the best in South- East Nigeria would be sited at Umuoghara, Ezza North Local Government Area of the State.

“I want to announce to you that President Buhari has approved a total of 15 billion naira project in Umuoghara, the best power plant in the South East in your domain,” he said.”

Governor Umahi also announced that the International Airport would be ready for commissioning and flight operations in the month of April 2023.

“This Airport, I am building it without measure, the Federal Ministry of Aviation came here and said that it is the most beautiful and biggest in the entire Africa.

“By April we must commission this Airport. Before I leave, the Airport will be busy,” he said.

In this regard, the Governor doesn’t need to prove to anybody his competence and capability to attract the best attention to the State once he assumes office as a Senator representing the Southern District of the State.

Chief Eze added that the recent award conferred on the Governor by the Silver Television as the Man of the Year further showcases Umahi as a special gift not only to Ebonyi State but to humanity at large.
